As long as input monitoring was ON, then audio would play from the Main project track to the linked Subproject track.ġb) Subproject linked tracks would automatically route MIDI from the subproject tracks BACK to the main project tracks. All that would be needed is for the linked subproject track to have input monitoring ON. This would do the following:ġa) Linked tracks would automatically route audio from the main project track to the linked track in the subproject. Here is where the first addition would come in.ġ) When moving tracks to subproject add an option to LINK tracks. The first thing we do is take all the non-video and guide tracks, as shown by the red outline above and move those tracks to our subproject. So we have all of our video, guide tracks (dialogue, SFX, MX temp, etc.) along with all of our VSTi tracks in our main project. These additions would not change the current functionality of subprojects - simply extend them so they could be better used for a media composing workflow. Because of these recent changes and timecode/timeline sync between project tabs I thought now would be a really good opportunity to get "all the way there" for using Subprojects when media composing/scoring to picture. So, recently added background video support in Reaper which was a HUGE addition for those of us scoring to picture.
